I asked for a sign, didn't like what it said
I kept on keeping on instead
they say nothing beats a fail but a try
guess that's one thing I'm doing right
been kicking round the same old tunes
tangled up in a predictable hue
all the ink I've spilled on rambling songs
aint floating me none or getting me gone
stubborn is as stupid does
my head knows better but my feet won't budge
my donkey-sense has got me frozen in this track
some kind of death down every other path
I wrote my self into a bit part
now I'm sketching out the framework of a fresh start
they say nothing beats a fail but a try
I'm gonna mess it up good tonight
